This drink is born in the prairie. Wild plum ripens in late summer along the creek bottoms and brushy draws of the northern Great Plains. Sweetgrass grows in the same prairie wetlands, gathered and braided for ceremony across this region for generations. The honey is worked by bees across the prairie wildflowers in the long summer days, when the grass is tall and the horizon is unbroken in every direction. This is the prairie the Black Hills rises from and returns back to.
